Please reach us at help@rapidfuelrescue.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.
If you haven’t already, avoid starting the engine as this will pull the incorrect fuel into the engine. Give us a call for your quote and ETA. Finally, let the petrol station know what has happened and that you have contacted us already. They should help push you to a safe place.
Running a vehicle with incorrect fuel in always has the potential to cause damage to the engines components. We would always recommend having the tank and fuel system drained as soon as possible, as the further you drive the more damage can occur.
For the exact quantity of incorrect fuel that your vehicle can tolerate, it is best to check with your vehicles manufacturer. The average is around 5%. Most cars on the road nowadays have a fuel tank capacity of 35-60 litres. For example a 60 litre tank could potentially run with 3 litres of incorrect fuel, if filled with correct fuel after, but always double check your make and model of vehicle with the manufacturer.
Don't panic, we are ready to help! We operate 24/7. So, if you find yourself stuck in this situation, give us a call for a reassuring chat and we will dispatch one of our drainers.
We currently cover the whole of the South West, 24/7.
You won’t need to do anything with the waste fuel as our drainer will take it away with them in the waste tank in the back of their van. It will be taken to a storage facility for fuel until it is collected by a waste fuel recycling company.
Any vehicle that isn't on a petrol station forecourt will have fuel assigned to the job. So once the drainer has drained your vehicle of incorrect fuel, they will have some fresh fuel to go back in to get you back to a petrol station.
